This hike is what inspired our desire to "do epic shit". After almost a year of planning we did this hike on October 13, 2020. We hiked from the South Rim to the North Rim in 12 hours exactly. Below are some helpful websites:
The 150-mile Great Allegheny Passage soars over valleys, snakes around mountains, and skirts alongside three rivers (the Casselman, Youghiogheny, and Monongaleha) on its nearly level path. Cyclists pass through the Cumberland Narrows, cross the Mason-Dixon Line, top the Eastern Continental Divide at 2,392’, weave through the breathtaking Laurel Highlands, wind their way through 20,633-acre Ohiopyle State Park, journey through the region’s coke, coal, mining, and steel-making corridor, and end at Pittsburgh’s majestic Point State Park.

Burning Man is an event held annually since 1986 in the western United States.[1] Since 1991, the event has been located at Black Rock City, a temporary city erected in the Black Rock Desert of northwestern Nevada. The event is held approximately 100 miles (160 km) north-northeast of Reno. As outlined by Burning Man co-founder Larry Harvey in 2004, the event is guided by these ten principles: radical inclusion, gifting, decommodification, radical self-reliance, radical self-expression, communal effort, civic responsibility, leaving no trace, participation, and immediacy. The event derives its name from its culmination, the symbolic burning of a large wooden effigy, referred to as "The Man," that occurs on the Saturday evening before Labor Day.
For many cyclists visiting the Luberon and Provence, it’s all about the Mont Ventoux climb. Mount Ventoux towers above the Provençal countryside and is one of the world’s most iconic rides. It’s a big part of Tour de France history, books have been written on it. The weather can be extreme. It is a dangerous, mythical, semi-religious place. It’s a ride every serious road cyclist should do at least once in their life.
